A lot of the San Francisco 49ers' success in 2019 is riding on the health of Jimmy Garoppolo. The quarterback continues to rehab from a torn ACL suffered in late-September. He hopes to take part in organized team activities later this month, albeit in a limited fashion, and then be medically cleared to practice during training camp in late-July.

The most important question is if Garoppolo will be ready for the regular season in September. The quarterback joined ESPN's Outside the Lines this past week and remains optimistic he will be in the lineup when the 49ers visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the season opener.

"I sure hope so," Garoppolo answered when asked if he will be ready. "Yeah, it's trending that way. We've still got a little while, about four months or so. OTAs start here in a couple of weeks.

"The trainers, coaches, they're all putting together a pretty good plan of just how we're going to attack it. I'm excited to get back out there, finally."

Garoppolo completed 53-of-89 attempts (59.6 percent) for 718 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions through three starts in 2018 before suffering his season-ending injury.
