The San Francisco 49ers have invited cornerback Jordan Holland of Prairie View A&M to take part in this week's mandatory minicamp, which kicks off on Tuesday. He participated in the team's rookie minicamp in May and is the son of the 49ers' run-game specialist and outside linebackers coach, Johnny Holland.

The younger Holland revels in roughing up wide receivers and was excited to go against rookie Deebo Samuel during the rookie minicamp.

"I'm a junkyard dog, and every team needs one of those," Holland told 49ers Webzone in May.

While there is interest from the CFL and XFL, Holland is trying to catch on with an NFL squad first. He told Levin T. Black that he recently ran a 4.45-second 40-yard dash and had a 39-inch vertical at a mock pro day.

"Jordan was listed at 5-foot-10-inches and 190 pounds on the official site of Your Call Football, a league he recently took part in and has an XFL partnership," wrote Black.
