The San Francisco 49ers are signing 34-year-old veteran long snapper Garrison Sanborn to replace recently signed and now-departed Jon Condo, according to The Athletic.

Condo spent six days with the 49ers and appeared in one game, Sunday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, before the team placed him on the reserve/retired list on Monday.

Sanborn worked out for the 49ers on Tuesday, September 17.

The Buffalo Bills signed Sanborn as an undrafted free agent out of Florida State in 2009. He played in Buffalo until being released on March 6, 2017, and then spent the next two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Long snapper Kyle Nelson, suspended last year for 10 games, is eligible to return for the 49ers' October 27 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
