49ers emerged from Week 17 injury-free; Kyle Shanahan hopes to get Dee Ford, Jaquiski Tartt back for playoffs

Sunday night's road game against the Seattle Seahawks was a hard-fought win for the San Francisco 49ers. Luckily, the Bay Area team emerged relatively healthy. Head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters via a conference call on Monday and had no injury updates to provide.
Defensive end
Nick Bosa had his hand wrapped following the 26-21 victory at CenturyLink Field, but Shanahan called the injury "minor" and didn't receive any updates on it. In cases like that, no news is good news.
"We came out (of the game) good," Shanahan said. "I have no reports of anything new today, so we're good to go."
Shanahan is hopeful to have a healthy Dee Ford and Jaquiski Tartt available for the 49ers' first playoff game, which will take place on Saturday, January 11.
"I'm hoping for it, and I am feeling optimistic about it," Shanahan said. "You never know how those things go with the ribs (Tartt) and with the hamstring (Ford), but that was the goal. We knew there could be a slight chance this week if we were playing this week, so getting this bye week should make it an even better chance then."
Guard Mike Person could be back in the lineup, too. The offensive lineman has been dealing with a neck injury that will require some lengthy rest after the season. For now, the added time off should allow him to return for the playoffs.
"Mike's good to go," Shanahan informed reporters. "I mean, he's battled through all this stuff. I think these two weeks of him not having to get in these games has helped him a lot.
"The issues he has aren't going to go away until after the season, until he can take a couple of months off, but I think these two weeks have helped him. Getting another bye week will help him a ton, and we'll see how practice goes this week and next."

Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times reports that the Seattle Seahawks remain interested in reuniting with free agent safety Jamal Adams. He adds another name to the list of teams considering Adams for the upcoming season—the San Francisco 49ers.

49ers add more speed to their running back room
The presence of Christian McCaffrey automatically makes the San Francisco 49ers running back room among the best in the NFL. The team also has Elijah Mitchell, Jordan Mason, and Patrick Taylor. There is a common theme within the group—speed.
McCaffrey ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine in 2017. Mitchell boasted blazing speed at his local pro day in 2021, estimated to be in the range of 4.32 to 4.38 seconds. Taylor ran a 4.57 time but did so following an earlier Lisfranc injury.

One thing is clear: Ian Rapoport expects Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel to be on the San Francisco 49ers roster when the team takes the field in Week 1 of the 2024 season.
