The following list tracks San Francisco 49ers signings, interests, and losses during free agency, which officially kicks off at the start of the new league year on Wednesday, March 13, at 1 p.m. PT (4 p.m. ET). NFL teams can begin negotiations with player agents on Monday, March 11, at 9 a.m. PT (noon ET).

This list will be updated frequently throughout the early days of free agency, so please bookmark it and check back often for the latest information.

Unrestricted Free Agent (UFA): A player with an expiring contract who has four or more accrued seasons and is free to negotiate with any team at the start of the new league year.

Restricted Free Agent (RFA): A player with an expiring contract who has three accrued seasons. The player can negotiate with other teams, but the original team has the right to match any offer.

Exclusive Rights Free Agent (ERFA): A player with an expiring contract with fewer than three accused seasons. The player cannot negotiate with other teams if his original team offers a qualifying contract.

The San Francisco 49ers officially announced the signings of six of their eight draft picks on Friday along with a group of eight undrafted free agents. Offensive lineman and third-round pick Dominick Puni (Kansas), safety and fourth-round pick Malik Mustapha (Wake Forest), and linebacker and seventh-round pick Tatum Bethune (Florida State) were announced by the team to have signed their rookie contracts, one day after cornerback and second-round pick Renardo Green (Florida State), running back and fourth-round pick Isaac Guerendo (Louisville), and wide receiver and fourth-round pick Jacob Cowing (Arizona) were reported to have signed theirs. PFF suggests 49ers bolster O-line with one of these two signings

The San Francisco 49ers drafted two offensive linemen in the 2024 NFL Draft, both with experience playing guard. However, these acquisitions occurred in the third and sixth rounds. Was it enough to immediately improve the team's offensive line for the upcoming season? Gordon McGuinness isn't convinced. The Pro Football Focus analyst examined one potential offseason move for each NFC team that can improve its roster, and upon reviewing the 49ers' roster, suggests that adding a veteran guard might be necessary. Opposing defenses already faced a daunting challenge against the San Francisco 49ers. Following the 2024 NFL Draft, that challenge intensified. While the team made no significant upgrades to the offensive line—and we'll see if that will impact production—it added more weapons for third-year quarterback Brock Purdy within an already loaded offense. With Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and Jauan Jennings already in their lineup, the 49ers had a strong receiving corps. Barring any unexpected roster changes, all three will return for the upcoming season.
