Ben Standig of The Athletic reports that the San Francisco 49ers, along with several other teams, hosted Alabama edge defender Chris Braswell on a pre-draft visit.


Braswell is projected to be a second-round draft pick and ranks 58th on Pro Football Focus' big board.

During his senior 2023 season, Braswell registered 42 tackles, including 10.5 for a loss, eight sacks, a pass defensed, an interception, a touchdown, and three forced fumbles through 14 games, per Sports Reference.

Over the past three seasons at Alabama, he amassed 75 tackles, including 15.5 for a loss, 10.5 sacks, one pass defensed, an interception, a touchdown, and four forced fumbles.

Braswell received career-high overall (81.0) and pass-rushing (87.9) grades from Pro Football Focus last season. He generated a career-high 56 pressures, tying for the 11th most among collegiate defenders.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6-foot-3, 251-pound Braswell posted a 40-yard dash time of 4.6 seconds, a vertical jump of 33.5 inches, and a broad jump of 9 feet, 7 inches.
