The Seattle Seahawks are set to have new ownership. A group led by San Francisco 49ers limited partner Vinod Khosla has agreed to purchase the NFC West franchise for a record $9.612 billion, the largest sale price in NFL history. The agreement was announced on Saturday.

Khosla's group must divest its non-controlling 3.1% minority stake in the 49ers before the Seahawks transaction can be completed. NFL rules strictly prohibit owning ownership stakes in two teams simultaneously. The investment group acquired that stake in the 49ers in May 2025.
The Seahawks are coming off a Super Bowl LX victory over the New England Patriots, a championship won at the 49ers' home stadium, Levi's Stadium.
The Khosla family will purchase the Seahawks from the estate of Microsoft co-founder Paul G. Allen, who died in 2018. Allen purchased the franchise in 1997 and remained its owner until his death. It has since been controlled by his sister, Jody, who is the executor of the trust.
Khosla is the founder of Khosla Ventures, a venture capital firm, and reportedly has an estimated net worth of approximately $13.8 billion.
