On Wednesday, Chat Sports contributor Chase Senior reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers were "aggressively pursuing" San Francisco 49ers wide receiver
Brandon Aiyuk. He further stated that the Steelers are confident they can finalize a deal for the star player.
Aiyuk's agent, Ryan Williams, has been swift in addressing the rampant speculation surrounding his client. Over the weekend, he
dispelled a rumor that Aiyuk had requested a trade.
Williams has now refuted Senior's recent report about the Steelers' pursuit of Aiyuk.
"Another 'report' that couldn't be more incorrect," Wiliams shared on social media, directly responding to Senior's claim. "Fictional 'journalism' should really stop."
The speculation surrounding Aiyuk's future will likely persist through Day 1 of next week's draft. If the first round concludes with Aiyuk still on the roster, it suggests the 49ers believe they can reach an agreement with the receiver before the upcoming season begins.
Aiyuk is under contract through the upcoming season, set to earn $14.124 million on a team-executed fifth-year option. While the 49ers can also use the franchise tag in future years, both parties likely prefer to secure a deal before Aiyuk returns to the field.
Coming off a career season where he accumulated a team-leading 1,342 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, Aiyuk is an ascending NFL talent. Last month, general manager John Lynch emphasized, "
We want him to be a part of the Niners, so we're going to work towards making that a reality."

Ian Rapoport sends clear message regarding 49ers' Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel
One thing is clear: Ian Rapoport expects Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel to be on the San Francisco 49ers roster when the team takes the field in Week 1 of the 2024 season. At this point, most probably feel that way. The fact that both stayed with the team throughout the draft clearly signals that general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan intend to retain their two talented receivers—at least for one more season.
"Week 1 of 2024, it looks like they both will be [on the roster]," Rapoport told guest host Tom Pelissero on "The Rich Eisen Show."
However, nothing in the NFL is ever certain.
"Now, look, crazy things can happen," Rapoport continued. "Someone loses a star receiver, they decide to give the 49ers something of value for this
Terrell Owens reacts to 49ers' handling of Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel
Rumors swirled around the statuses of San Francisco 49ers wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft. In the end, both players remained on the roster, and the speculation surrounding the two star players dwindled.
While the 49ers repeatedly insisted that signing Aiyuk to a long-term deal remained the priority, there were reports of trade talks involving him and Samuel. After San Francisco drafted wide receiver Ricky Pearsall with the No. 31 overall pick, the Aiyuk trade rumors cooled off, and the Samuel ones heated up.

Who's more vital to 49ers' offense: Deebo Samuel or Brandon Aiyuk?
Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk were both subjects of trade speculation before and during the draft. While the San Francisco 49ers seem poised to retain both receivers for at least one more season, their long-term futures with the team remain uncertain.
The 49ers seek to sign Aiyuk to a contract extension, which could lead to efforts to offload Samuel's salary as early as next year. However, this remains speculative as the team's brass continues to express support for both players.

Bill Barnwell examines impact of 49ers drafting Ricky Pearsall on Brandon Aiyuk
The San Francisco 49ers' selection of wide receiver Ricky Pearsall with the No. 31 overall pick does not indicate an imminent departure for Brandon Aiyuk. Let's make that clear right now. The 49ers remain focused on signing their veteran wideout to a long-term deal.
While ESPN's Bill Barnwell believes that Pearsall's selection could lead to the eventual parting ways with one of the 49ers' wide receivers, he points out another impact Aiyuk's former Arizona State teammate might have on his 2024 campaign.
"Aiyuk might be delighted to link up with a former teammate, but in the short term, adding another first-round
